“It probably took me about 15 or 20 games to adjust. After that I started to play my game. As the games went on I got better and better but everybody gets better and better," Provorov said.

Is that based on the eye test?

I know this is their "job". It's a job they love to do. Hell, I wish it was my job. I understand they want to play the game they love. However, I wish these guys would realize that perhaps the best play at this time is to rest and get ready for next year.

All these tournaments, World Cup, IIHF, the Olympics previously, it only extends their season and delays proper healing. Focus on the Flyers, they are the ones paying you the salary you get. Perhaps healthier hips and groins means less of an offseason in the end.

End Rant.

Hey Bill,

There was no mention of interviews with Travis Konecny. Was he among those who were not requested? Seems odd, given that he might have offered decent insight in to what he took away from his first year in the league, ups and downs, etc.

I hope this extra time off helps everyone get healthy before they try to get stronger and faster.

Wish that Coots could have taken the extra time to heal 100%. That might have helped get us that extra 10 points.

So Schultz and MDZ are good as gone. I guess this means open competition next season for Haag, Morin, Sanheim, and maybe Myers. That'll make next training camp really interesting.

I have a feeling Hextall is going to take the opportunity with rookie salaries and promote two of their prospects, provided they're ready. With the team still up against the cap, he may think their cap space would be better served addressing their top 3 line forwards...IMO.

I really don't think the flyers go after any defenseman. If anything they resign manning and than backfill with rookies. Morin hagg both add a bigger frame skill and cheap contract to the d. With manning you can rotate him in with the rookies and allow them to develop. Its also about time for one of them. Who you going to get to do that for under 6+ million.

I really wish they had just shut Giroux down for a while. Maybe even Couts too considering he was battling knee issues.

They won't sign any ufa dman. Manning is signed for next year. There are enough vets signed already and 2-3 spots ready for the rooks

They probably did discuss it. In the end they weighed whether or not playing was hurting them/keeping them from recovering/reinjuring the issue.

In Couturiers case its seems it may have when he talked about having setbacks.

In Girouxs case I think there was nothing to be done except play through it.

I don't see them doing anything in the offseason. Wouldn't surprise me if they choose to go with Neuvirth/Stolarz combo.

That makes me kinda nervous. But hey, next season really is another bubble team/throwaway season.

Calvin de haan, for example. They have to protect 3 defensemen and they really only have 2. Could protect AMac lol. Other teams have more than 3 so it is an opportunity that is created by the expansion draft.

They aren't going into next year with 3 rookies getting roster spots. I won't bet changing my name, I just don't think it jives with how Hextall operates

Me too. Ideally they sign a #1 goaltender for 2-3 years and a true #1 LW
